WEEK OF JANUARY1 THROUGH JANUARY 6
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
  • On January 4th, the first game of the new year and the first home game in the 2023-2024 basketball season, the Mustangs played host to Palmer Ridge High School in a non-conference matchup.  Mullen jumped out to a big lead and never looked back. The Mustangs had contributors all over the court but were led by Makenzie Jones, Allison Schwertner, and Keaton Arangua-egbert. The Mustangs win in convincing fashion, 59-29. They will take on Rocky Mountain High School on 1/13.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
  • For their first game in the new year. The Mustangs took on Heritage High School at home. Mullen would come up short and fall 66-58.  A bright spot in the loss was Sophomore, Mason Bonner, who had a monster double double that included 20 total rebounds. Anderson Brendle added 14 points.  Jordan Leslie chipped in 10 points.  The Stangs will travel to Legend High School on 1/9.
  • An additional note to Friday’s game against Heritage, Mullen’s Jordan Leslie scored his 1,000 career point early in the second half of the game.
HOCKEY
  • On January 4th, The hockey team took to the ice to face off against Steamboat Springs.  They would fall in a close one 3-2.  In their next game the Mustangs took on Glenwood Springs and went down 8-2.  The team looks to bounce back in their next game against Liberty on 1/10.
BOYS & GIRLS’ WRESTLING
  • In wrestling action last week, Mullen hosted Overland in a league dual match.  The boys lost a close one to the Trailblazers 35-31, and the girls tied in their dual match - winning two, losing two, and forfeiting a match.
